Pricing and More Service Detail
Learn more about quilting services and pricing details.
Edge to Edge
Edge to edge designs start at 3.5 cents per square inch. Designs that are more dense cost a little more because they take more time. You can combine designs with one in the main area of the quilt and another in a border for a small price increase. There is a $50 minimum.
Freeflow
Freeflow quilting starts at 10.5 cents per square inch because it ends up being dense and takes more time to quilt. There is a $50 minimum.
Custom
Custom quilting is priced differently and is priced at $50/hr for design and quilting time. More complex designs, ruler work, and thread color changes can really highlight your piecing, but they all take more time to quilt. After I see your quilt and we talk about your quilt and any design ideas you have, I’ll write up an estimate for your quilt that includes design and quilting time. This estimate is a not to exceed quote with an estimate of hours. For example, if I estimate that your quilt will take 6-8 hours to design and custom quilt, it would cost $300-$400. I keep track of my design and quilting time and only bill you for the time I spent on your quilt, for example 6.75 hours, or $337.50. If it takes me longer than I estimated, I only bill you for the hours in your estimate, for example it takes me 9 hours but your estimate was 6-8 hours, it would cost $400 (8 hours). Once you agree to the estimate, I will start to design your custom quilting and then send you the design that is the best fit for what we talked about with your quilt. We will talk again after you review the design and I will make any final design adjustments.
Basting
Basting starts at $50 per quilt. Projects that are very large (like a queen size quilt) will cost a little more. If you have several smaller projects that you want basted, depending on your backing, there might be a way I can baste them at the same time and it would be a little cheaper than $50 per quilt.
Premium Wool Batting
I love wool batting - it is in almost all of my own quilts. It makes the quilting really pop. I personally machine wash and dry (cold water on delicate and low temp dry!) my quilts, but you should carefully read the manufacturers directions before deciding how to wash your quilt.
Premium Bamboo Batting
Bamboo batting is a newer favorite of mine. I find it has a bit more loft than cotton batting and the finished quilt has really nice drape. I have been using bamboo batting in more of my warmer weather quilts.
